Fountain Inn Museum’s ‘Hooked on History’ Presents Hunter Holmes
September 21, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Free Admission!Join us in welcoming Hunter Holmes as he shares and performs his research of early textile mill music. Hunter Holmes has been researching, performing and collecting traditional Southern music since 2005 and has had a particular interest in music of the Piedmont region. His research has included the various forms of blues and ragtime that are associated with the area, “hillbilly” music in the area that was a result of Scots-Irish descendants mixing music from various cultures, as well as researching the history of mill workers’ songs all over the Upstate. He makes a great effort to learn, research, and perform as many of the old blues and hillbilly songs as possible, and share the songs in the communities where they are most at home – the Piedmont.Â
This Hooked on History presentation, brought to you by the Fountain Inn Museum, will be held at the farmers market pavilion on September 21st at 7 pm. It is free to anyone who is interested and we are looking forward to seeing you there!Â
